Refresh Rate
Refresh rate is the number of times per second a display updates its image, measured in Hertz (Hz). 60Hz is standard; 120Hz, 144Hz, 240Hz, and 360Hz are available on gaming monitors. Higher refresh rates produce smoother motion, lower input lag, and reduced eye strain. Refresh rate is different from frame rate (FPS) — refresh rate is a monitor property, frame rate is a source property. Variable refresh rate (G-Sync, FreeSync) syncs the monitor to the source frame rate to eliminate tearing.
