Response Time (GtG)

Response time is how fast a single pixel can change color, measured in milliseconds (ms). Grey-to-grey (GtG) is the most common measurement. 1ms GtG is fast enough for 144Hz gaming; 5ms+ shows visible ghosting in fast motion. Panel technology matters: TN is fastest (~1ms), IPS is 1-4ms, VA is 4-15ms (notorious for dark-scene ghosting), OLED is sub-1ms (no ghosting). Marketing response times are often best-case; real-world performance varies.
